The Easy German Team
Ben
Ben’s role with Easy German is to translate the subtitles into English, but he has also joined the gang on trips to the US, Canada and Mexico to help film and edit episodes. During his internship with The Global Experience in 2012/13 he contributed to expanding the Easy Languages YouTube channel, and since 2017 he has been working full time in the TV industry in Manchester, UK.
Cari
Cari is one of the hosts of Easy German and also the CEO of Easy Languages, the company that stands behind the Easy Languages network. She is passionate about intercultural dialogue and education and loves to travel by train and ferry.
Chris
Chris is a video producer at Easy German and partners manager at Easy Languages. He films with Janusz, Cari, and Manuel on the streets of Berlin, edits the weekly YouTube episodes and makes sure our videos look and sound great. He is originally from Indiana in the US and now lives just outside Berlin with his wife and daughters. When he's not playing with a camera, he enjoys running, reading, drinking coffee, and traveling.
Doro
Doro supports the Easy German Conversation Calls and is one of the partners helping you learning to speak German. She has a great enthusiasm for teaching the German language and talking to German beginners specifically. Doro is also the mother of Cari and Isi, making Easy German a true family business.
Erik
Erik studied teaching German as a foreign language and is our expert in didactics. He makes sure our content fits the needs of German learners, produces our interactive worksheets and transcripts, and answers questions from our community. Erik is passionate about language teaching, intercultural exchange and traveling and spent a year teaching German in Thailand.
Esther
Esther helps produce the Easy German podcast. She edits many of our episodes and creates transcripts and vocabulary lists for our members. She also helps create the subtitles for many of our videos. Esther lives in Kiel and enjoys making music, writing and hiking.
Gina
Gina is part of our Publishing & Community Team at Easy German. You will likely hear back from her when writing an email to Easy German or commenting on our social media platforms. Additionally, she supports the team with didactic topics. Gina lives in Bielefeld and studies German as a foreign language at the university. She enjoys Sunday mornings at her favourite café, reading and going to the cinema.
Isi
Isi is one of the Easy German hosts and leads the Publishing & Community Team of Easy German. Born in Münster, she is now living in Brighton and is passionate about live music, the outdoors, travelling and animals. In addition to Easy German, Isi is also part of the Easy English team!
Janusz
Janusz hosts most of Easy Germans street interviews and is also the founder of Easy German. He is originally from Poland and moved to Germany in 1984. He used to be a truck driver before discovering his passion for media and education. Apart from talking to people in the street, Janusz loves to play blues music on his guitar.
Lisa
Lisa is part of our Publishing & Community Team and provides support on our social media platforms. She regularly co-hosts our Conversation Membership Calls and is involved in didactic topics, such as worksheet creation. After a long-term travel in Latin America that included teaching German online and falling in love with Spanish, dancing and intercultural exchange, she now enjoys exploring Berlin — preferably outdoors.
Lorenz
As part of our Publishing & Community Team, Lorenz manages our YouTube community and supports our Easy German members with any questions. He is also jointly responsible for our project that aims to help refugees from Ukraine. Lorenz studies International Relations in Berlin and enjoys coffee, sunsets and traveling to remote areas.
Manuel
Manuel produces the Easy German Podcast and hosts some of our videos. In his role as COO of Easy Languages, he cares about developing new ideas, advancing the Easy Languages podcast network and discovering new partnerships. He lives in Berlin and enjoys cycling, coffee and learning a new skill.
Pauline
Pauline is part of our Community Team at Easy German. She responds to emails and comments and provides support to our Easy German members. She also co-hosts our Conversation Membership calls, where she engages with our community on a variety of topics. Pauline studies theatre studies in Berlin. She is passionate about salsa dancing, spending time in nature and exploring new cultures.
Rawad
Rawad is a filmmaker from Lebanon who joined the Easy German team in 2022 as a full time video producer. He films and edits our videos and makes sure they look great on all platforms. Rawad is a cinephile who loves and appreciates the art of cinema. In his free time, he exercises regularly, plays tennis, and loves to read.
