Easy German
Book Club for Beginners

Join our Book Club for Beginners this summer to boost your German by reading a fun, beginner-friendly book with us. Over four weeks, you’ll complete chapter-based exercises, chat about each chapter with other learners on Discord, and join live Zoom sessions with us (and sometimes even the book’s author).

A Note for Advanced Learners

We’re reading a beginner-level book this time, but you might still find value in joining! If you’re waiting for a more advanced edition of the Book Club, stay tuned — we may have something for you coming later this year. 🤫

How to Participate

Step 1: Become a Member

To join the Book Club, start by becoming an Easy German member. The full program — including chapter discussions, exercises, and Zoom calls — is available to all members starting at the Learner level.

Signing up is quick, and you can cancel your membership anytime.

Step 2: Register for the Book Club

Once you’re a member, don’t forget to register for the Book Club. This ensures we can send you the ebook and provide links to weekly discussions, exercises, and Zoom calls.

📕📗
What We’re Reading

We’ll be reading Immer wieder Sascha by Angelika Bohn — a fun and accessible story written for beginners at the A1/A2 level.

Immer wieder
Sascha

Level: A1-A2

Written by Angelika Bohn as part of her “Einfach Deutsch lesen” project, this book is designed specifically for German learners at the A1 and A2 levels.

The Story

Immer wieder Sascha follows a boy whose life falls apart — until a mysterious teen helps him jump into the bodies of other men with his name. Is it a dream, or a chance to change everything?

📚
How It Works

Receive the Book

Once you’ve registered for the Book Club, we’ll send you a digital copy of the book in EPUB format, free of charge. If you prefer, you can also purchase a physical copy.

Read

We’ll aim to read two chapters (about 20 pages) each week, with vocabulary lists to help. You can always read ahead or catch up at your own pace if needed.

Discuss

Once you’ve finished each chapter, join the conversation on our Discord server. It’s a space to share your thoughts, ask questions, and reflect on your reading experience.

Practice

You’ll receive PDF exercises for each chapter to complete at your own pace, with solutions provided so you can check your work.

Speak

Join our weekly Zoom calls to discuss each chapter and practice speaking German in small groups. In two of the sessions, you’ll even get the chance to meet the author, Angelika Bohn, and ask her questions about the book and her writing process.

The calls take place every Friday at 5 p.m. Berlin time (check your local time here). Note: On July 18th, the call will exceptionally start at 3 p.m. Berlin time.
